Chapter 53 is the fifth and final chapter of the ninth volume and the overall fifty-third chapter of the Fruits Basket manga series, written and illustrated by Natsuki Takaya.
Summary[]
Momiji has planned a vacation at a Sohma summer home that includes Yuki, Kyo, Tohru, and himself, all without anybody else’s input. The only thing standing in their way is Tohru’s unfinished homework, and as Yuki helps her out with homework, he musters the courage to bring up the hat. However, Yuki is cut off by a window breaking before they can continue with their conversation. Meanwhile, Rin drops in to talk to Shigure about the curse. Towards the end, it is revealed that Yuki, is in fact, the boy with the hat who had given it to Tohru many years prior.
