Chapter 83 is the sixth and final chapter of the fourteenth volume and the overall eighty-third chapter of the Fruits Basket manga series, written and illustrated by Natsuki Takaya.
Summary[]
Tohru's class is looking into roles for the Cinderella play during the annual cultural festival, and Yuki recused himself from the role of Prince Charming, claiming he was too busy with student council and that the role just wouldn’t suit him.
Meanwhile, he gets into his student council shenanigans. He tries to get to know Machi better and is in turn saved by her when he gets locked in a dark closet. This triggers his memories of Akito, and he is later able to vaguely confide in Kakeru regarding his past and how he had, in fact, looked for a "mother" in Tohru.
