Fruits Basket (フルーツバスケット, Furūtsu Basuketto) is the reboot anime adaption of the manga of the same name by Natsuki Takaya. The anime series is directed by Yoshihide Ibata and produced by TMS Entertainment. The series was first announced on November 19th, 2018, and premiered on April 6th, 2019 on TV Tokyo. The series streams on both Crunchyroll and FunimationNow, while Funimation holds the license to home video rights.

The 2019 anime faithfully adapts the entirely of the manga, along with a completely new cast and staff from the original 2001 anime. While this is true for Japan, a majority of the Funimation-based English voice cast returned to reprise their roles from the original.

The first season of the 2019 reboot was 25 episodes long. The second season premiered on April 6th, 2020 also consists 25 episodes.[1][2] The third and final season under the title, Fruits Basket: The Final which has 13 episodes premiered on April 5th, 2021.[3][4] [5]

  • Every episode's title is taken from a character's line.
  • Season one covers volumes 1-6; season 2 covers volumes 7-17; season 3 covers 18-23.
  • A total of 8 chapters were skipped in the anime adaptions which includes: Chapters 90, 91, 92, 93 (half), 110, 112, 113 and 133
    • Chapters 90, 91, 92 and the missing half of 93 were adapted apart of the main series in the Fruits Basket -prelude- movie.
