Fruits Basket -prelude- (フルーツバスケット-prelude-, Furūtsu Basuketto - prelude -) is the Japanese animated drama romance film based upon Natsuki Takaya's Fruits Basket manga series.
After Episode 13 of third season finished, it has been announced and is set to premiere in 2022.[1] It centered around Tohru Honda’s late parents accompanied by a digest episode of the anime series, narrated by Kyo, and a brand-new anime story about Tohru and Kyo, set after the series.[2]
The film was premiered in Japanese theaters on February 18th, 2022.
The special event film was distributed by Crunchyroll, with select movie theaters in the United States and Canada airing the movie in both subtitle and dub formats on June 25, 28 and 29. The film was also release in the United Kingdom, with the dubbed version only, on July 20.[3]
